Treatments We Offer

Electronic Muscle Stimulation
The various benefits of electrical muscle stimulation include mending broken bones and healing wounds. When used at very low levels of current, it helps in decreasing pain by allowing the body to produce certain pain killers called endorphins. Chiropractors use electrical stimulation to help in contracting the muscles when the muscles lose strength and become unable to contract on their own. Other benefits may include decreased swelling, the promotion of general muscle tone, and accelerated healing process.

Orthopedic Rehabilitation
The ultimate goal of rehabilitation is to restore the patient's physical, mental, emotional, and vocational capabilities to optimal levels. It is hard work, but the benefits are worth the time and the effort: Increased muscle strength, improved mobility and joint flexibility, and reduced swelling and pain.

Ice Massage
Studies have shown that ice massage, a form of cryotherapy, is an effective treatment for musculoskeletal injuries by helping to decrease pain, swelling and inflammation in injured tissues. Ice can also help decrease the pain, swelling, and inflammation caused by arthritis.

Hot Stone Massage
Hot stone massage is a natural therapy in which smooth river rocks are warmed and then significantly placed on parts of the patient's body in order to maximize the therapeutic benefits. These hot stones expand blood vessels, which encourages blood flow throughout the body, and also have a very calming effect that can relieve chronic pain, reduce stress and promote deep mental and physical relaxation.

TENS Units
"Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation" uses low voltage electric current to relieve pain by creating electrical impulses, delivered through the patient's skin by electrodes. These impulses travel along nerve fibers and create a tingling sensation which causes increased blood flow to the area. Blood carries oxygen which helps loosen up the knot of muscle and decreases inflammation to the area. Many people feel less pain when the electrical impulses are delivered, and one theory as to why, is because stimulating the nerves blocks other pain signals.

Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy is one way to successfully push physical limitations in order to restore and maintain a level of physical function that permits independent living, by helping to decrease pain, improve joint mobility, increase strength and coordination and even improve cardiorespiratory function.

Therapeutic Ultrasound
Ultrasound is a therapeutic modality that has been used by physical therapists for decades, and involves the transmission of the ultrasonic waves that pass through the skin and cause a vibration of the local tissues. It has been shown to cause increases in tissue relaxation, local blood flow, and scar tissue breakdown. The effect of the increase in local blood flow can be used to help reduce local swelling and chronic inflammation, and, according to some studies, promote bone fracture healing.

Physical Therapy
Medications can only help so much, and for so long. Physical Therapy helps your body heal itself from the inside, making you stronger and more flexible, helping you reduce or eliminate pain, recover from or prevent a sports injury, and improve both your balance and your mobility.

Rehabilitation Programs
Rehabilitation therapy is the therapeutic, healing treatment that a patient receives after any kind of illness or injury. With or without medication, rehabilitation is one thing that helps you gain your physical strength and emotional self-confidence to overcome any such illness or injury. Physical therapy includes strengthening muscles and relieving pain.
